Volunteer with us

No experience needed – just a few hours, comfortable shoes and the wish to help. Here is what taking part involves.

Why volunteers matter

Every activity depends on the people who turn up

There is no team of professionals behind our cleanups. Each one happens because a group of people decided to spend a morning looking after a place they care about.

You can come once, or as often as you like. Nobody is expected to commit to more than they can give.

What you can join

Activities for different interests

Beach cleanups

Working along the shore in small groups, then sorting what we collect.

Forests & trails

Clearing litter from paths and picnic areas, sometimes simple restoration tasks.

Rivers & waterways

Collecting litter from banks and paths – always from dry, safe ground.

Heritage sites

Careful care days guided by the people who look after historic places.

Awareness & education

Helping at talks, school visits and information stands.

Behind the scenes

Photography, logistics, translation or social media – skills help too.

Good to know

Common questions

Do I need any experience?

No. Every event starts with a briefing that explains what to do and what to avoid.

What should I bring?

Each event page lists what to bring. Usually water, suitable clothes and closed shoes. We provide bags and, where possible, gloves and litter pickers.

Can I come on my own?

Yes. You will be part of a small group on the day.

Is there an age limit?

It depends on the activity. Any age requirement is stated on the event page.

Is it accessible?

Terrain varies. Event pages describe the ground and facilities so you can decide – and you are welcome to ask us.

What happens to my details?

They are used only to organize volunteering and, if you agree, to tell you about future events. See the privacy notice.
